Valentina's Story
Hi my name is Valentina and I have scoliosis. I think I first found out when I was twelve. But I didn’t know what it was or what the outcome might be in the future. I didn’t want to know. I just thought it was no big deal, I didn’t care.
From age 12 my mom has sent me to countless chiropractors and massauests, I don’t know if I spelled that right. At age 17 I got a brace, it helped but the truth I should have never been put into one. My curves were too severe for it. I hated wearing it anyway, it stuck out from my shoulders and there was no way of disguising it. Not that Im saying not to get a brace, get it if its right for your curves and your condition.
Before when I thought about the surgery, I was never going to get it. But my mind has changed through educating myself about it. I went for a consultation and the surgeon said I need surgery within four to six months or itll get worse. He says I need anterior and posterior.
